Enterprise Architecture Tools

There are many tools that are applicable to EA and choosing the tool or tools right for your needs can be a daunting task. We are experienced in the use of many EA tools and can help you select just the right tool for your needs. Brief descriptions of the tools follow.   Please click the logos for links to extensive information on each tool.

Enterprise Analytics - Gadrian® from Enterprise Analytics is a strong data gathering and analysis tool and should be considered for front ending an EA tool as well as back end analysis of the data.

Enterprise Elements - Enterprise Elements is a new company started by veteran architects, and produces a 100% web based repository tool of the same name that can be used by any large organization to manage large quantities of information in accordance with complex processes. It contains packaged solutions for DoDAF and CPIC, and now has a CADM configuration that allows customers to manage and gather EA data in exact accordance with the DoDAF CADM standard.

I-Logix, the Andover, MA based makers of the Rhapsody modeling tool, now offer an extension called the DoDAF Pack.   This Pack is a set of pre-defined UML 2.0 packages that allow the user to develop and simulate DoDAF work products.   This is another excellent tool for those that are interested in creating architectures with a UML focus.

Telelogic- In October of 2004, Telelogic introduced Telelogic Enterprise Architect for DoDAF® , which is a combination of their well known DOORS® requirements management tool, the TAU® modeling tool, and a DoDAF specific template. This tool utilizes UML for its modeling methodology.

"Telelogic Enterprise Architect for DoDAF enables you to define and construct DoDAF-compliant enterprise architectures. Its powerful modeling capabilities ensure consistent DoDAF views and products. It features auto-generation of many views and instant, automatic error detection in products. Traceability between products and specifications and standards can be established and maintained while creating and refining the model(s). Executable models enable the validation of architecture description."

In April of 2005, Telelogic acquired Popkin Software, the makers of System Architect® , considered by many to be the de facto standard in EA tools. System Architect® relies heavily on structured analysis diagrams for its DoDAF solution, and therefore complements the other Telelogic tools. Look for tighter integration with DOORS in System Architect® 10.3.
