DoDAF
Department of Defense Architecture Framework
The United States Department of Defense has invested in the development of an EA framework specific to their needs. Staring in 1996 with the C4ISR (Command, Control, Computers, Communications, Intelligence, and Reconnaissance) Architecture Framework, the documents, relationships, and specification has evolved into DoDAF 1.0, which was officially signed into existence in February 2004 (see Memo link below). The standard for documentation for all Information Technology projects and acquisitions, the DoDAF has become an integral part of any systems, software, or business engineering task within the DoD.
DoDAF 2.0
Information about the current version of the DoD Architecture Framework is available at the DoDAF 2.0 website.
Due to the complexity and importance of the DoDAF, EA Frameworks, LLC can provide expertise to assist our customers in the understanding of this framework.
